Purva Bharati Educational Trust: Where Transformation Begins

Who Are We?

We are an evolving small feminist organization working as catalysts for change, tirelessly working towards the development of marginalized communities, promoting social justice, fostering peace, and driving sustainable development.

Our commitment extends to envisioning a society where gender equity is achieved, women’s rights are upheld, and women from marginalized communities have equal opportunities for social, economic, and political empowerment.

We firmly believe that addressing these issues requires a feminist rights-based approach, ensuring fairness and inclusivity for all.

🌱 From Anemia to Hope Kalyani's Journey of Resilience 💚In the remote area of Fatikjan 15 No. Line, Beesakopie Tea Estate, Tinsukia, Assam, six-year-old Kalyani Bhakta has a story that reminds us that even the smallest seed can grow into a future full of hope. After losing her father at the age of four and being raised by her aunt under difficult circumstances, Kalyani struggled with anemia due to poor nutrition. Weak and often unable to play like other children, her childhood was overshadowed by hardship.Through Purva Bharati Educational Trust (PBET)'s nutrition and health initiative, Kalyani was identified as an anemic child during health assessments. Her aunt received seeds of nutritious vegetables and transformed a small patch of land beside their home into a thriving nutrition garden.🥬 Fresh bottle gourd, spinach, ladyfinger, chili, and other vegetables soon became part of Kalyani's daily meals.Over the following year-✨ Her health improved.✨ Her energy returned.✨ Her smile came back.✨ She gradually recovered from anemia.Kalyani's aunt began preserving seeds from their harvest, ensuring their family could continue growing nutritious food while helping others do the same.Seeds Preserved:🌿 Mustard Greens (Lai): 2.5 kg🥒 Bottle Gourd: 6 kg🌱 Long Bean: 100 g🫘 Fresh Beans: 40 g🥒 Cucumber: 250 gToday, she shares vegetables and seeds with five neighboring families, inspiring them to establish their own #NutritionGardens#ChildHealthn#AnemiaFreel#seedsavinge#CommunityNutrition #C#teagardencommunitiesTe#growyourownfoodes #growyourownfood ...
